While
reading a series of blogs on TED.com, I came across an entrepreneur called
Ludwick Marishance. Ludwick Marishance invented a water-less bathing lotion and
was named the 2011 Global Student Entrepreneur of the year Award—all because he
didn’t fell like taking a bath. I found this to be funny when reading this, but
interesting at the same time. Having someone with a great mind who doesn’t want
to do something like simply taking a bath, I find it remarkable that he could
invent a water-less bathing lotion because of that.
One
day Ludwick Marishane and his best friend was sunbathing, when Ludwick’s friend
turned to him and “Man, why doesn’t somebody invent something
that you can just put on your skin, and then you don’t have to bathe?” After six month of research on a cell phone,
Ludwick sixteen, develops a formula for lotion that cleanse cheaply, and
easily- especially important for the 2.5 billion people worldwide who lack
proper access to water and sanitation. Five years later, it’s now available on
the market; DryBath is odorless and creates a biodegradable film that cleans
and moistures the skin.
Ludwick
speech inspired me, because he was able to help his country save at least two hours
everyday to do things like homework, school, and just have a chance to sit down
and relax. He was also able to save water for billions of people around the
world. Ludwick was able to invent Draybath lotion just because he didn’t want
to take a bath, I find that very inspiring!!
