Since I was nine years old, Christian Acappella music has been the drive force towards my music rush. It all started with a group called Acappella founded by Keith Lancaster, who started off recording four part harmonies of himself before forming his own four part harmony group that would later travel the world. My group called ACCORD, enjoyed singing Keith Lancaster's songs for years until we came upon another group that would change the way we feel about Acappella music.
We started singing songs from a
well-known group called Take 6, who just released their latest album on March 27. Take 6 is well-known for Gospel, R&B, and Jazz. They are a 10-time Grammy and Dove
award-winning group. Their recent release included stars like Stevie Wonder and
Claude McKnight. The group has been together for decades and all members attended Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama. Upon graduating college, the group
was signed to Warner brothers label in 1987, which allowed them to achieve two Grammies that year.
Joey Kibble, who I had the privilege of meeting states that the group hasn't always been a "tight-knit group", but as time went on they were able to surpass their problems. Every group has its problems and disagreement, but we have learn to get along and respect each other.
